About The Position
The Department of History at The University of Memphis invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Teaching in U.S. History. The initial appointment is for one academic year with the possibility of renewal contingent upon available funding.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in History in hand prior to time of appointment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

- Sample syllabi for an undergraduate upper-division course and a graduate-level course.
- Academic transcript
- Full names and contact information (addresses, phone number and email address) for two professional references.
Responsibilities
- Teach a 4-4 load that includes survey courses in U.S. History (U. S. to 1877; U. S. from 1877) as well as upper-division undergraduate courses based on department needs, in both the classroom and online formats.
