About The Position

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM), a comprehensive, residential and commuter, undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs, is seeking an Assistant Professor of Social Work. This tenure/tenure-track faculty position is within the Social Work Department and involves teaching 12 credit hours per academic semester across the BSW curriculum. The role also includes active participation in the department’s CSWE Reaffirmation process, providing academic and professional advisement to BSW students, engaging in university and community service, developing and implementing an active research agenda, and demonstrating a commitment to the BSW Program’s mission and values.

Requirements

  • MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program.
  • A minimum of two years post-master’s social work practice experience in social services settings.
  • An LMSW or LCSW, and be eligible for licensing in Arkansas.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • A minimum of two years college teaching experience, preferably in a BSW or MSW program, including face to face, online and hybrid formats.
  • Proof of social work licensure.
  • Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

  • Deep understanding of generalist practice baccalaureate social work education and current CSWE accreditation standards (2022 EPAS).
