Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Professor of Psychological Science in Industrial-Organizational Psychology position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut. The Department of Psychological Science is pleased to announce a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2027. Eastern is Connecticut’s only public liberal arts university, and Psychology is among the largest majors on campus. This position requires teaching courses in our Industrial-Organizational Psychology Concentration (e.g., Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Groups & Teams, Leadership), the department's Research Methods sequence (Behavioral Science Statistics, Research Methods I & II) as well as meeting other departmental needs (e.g., General Psychology, courses in the Eastern’s Liberal Arts Core, and courses in the candidate’s specialty area). This position will support the Physical Education program through our Groups & Teams course and our graduate program in HR Management. There is potential for the candidate to contribute to development of stackable Graduate Certificate Programs in Management and related fields/specializations (e.g. Healthcare, HR). Candidates with research and practice interests involving AI implementation will be given preference, but candidates from all areas of I-O will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, especially with first-generation students. Those willing to mentor students in their research are especially encouraged to apply. Candidates will be expected to contribute to the service needs of the Department and University.
