About The Position

The Department of Kinesiology, Health Promotion and Recreation within the College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences at the University of North Texas invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Nutrition with expertise in nutritional sciences or molecular aspects of nutrition. We seek an innovative scholar whose research explores the molecular and cellular mechanisms through which nutrition influences human physiology, metabolism, health, and/or disease using human, culture, tissue, and/or animal models. The successful candidate will establish an externally funded research program that advances scientific discovery while educating and mentoring the next generation of nutrition scientists. Requirements

• Ph.D. in Nutrition, Nutritional Sciences, Molecular Nutrition, Biochemistry, or a closely related field. ABD will be considered but candidates must hold degree at the time of appointment.
• Evidence of a strong and growing research agenda with potential for sustained external funding.
• Demonstrated record of scholarly publications.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an externally funded research program in molecular nutrition.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition, nutritional biochemistry, metabolism, and related disciplines.
• Mentor undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students while fostering an engaging and collaborative research environment.
• Publish impactful research in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
• Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to advance innovative and translational research initiatives.
• Contribute to curriculum development, departmental governance, and professional service activities.
