About The Position

The Lloyd L. Gregory School of Pharmacy at Palm Beach Atlantic University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Medicinal Chemistry. The successful candidate will provide didactic instruction in medicinal chemistry and related pharmaceutical sciences to Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) students throughout the academic year, including the fall, spring, and summer semesters. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will contribute to the professional and spiritual development of pharmacy students and actively support the mission of the School of Pharmacy and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Responsibilities include engaging in research and scholarly activity, participating in assigned School and University committees, and serving as a faculty advisor to pharmacy students. The Lloyd L. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrate the ability and potential to engage in research and/or scholarly activity.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, with specific expertise in medicinal chemistry.
  • Ability to teach medicinal chemistry and related pharmaceutical science content within a professional pharmacy curriculum, including the application of chemical principles to drug action, structure-activity relationships, drug design, and pharmacotherapy.
  • Strong critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of educational and research teams.
  • Ability to organize complex chemical, scientific, and professional content and develop instructional strategies that make the material accessible, understandable, and relevant to pharmacy practice.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and to service within the School, University, profession, and broader community.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to meaningfully integrate faith and learning into coursework and interactions with students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and other healthcare and scientific professionals.
  • Proficiency with commonly used technology and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as electronic, internet-based, and other educational and professional resources.
  • At least three (3) references should be included within the CV.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate or professional-school level is preferred.
