Marian University is seeking qualified applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education position beginning August 2027. The Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education will promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and Identity by teaching mathematics methods and content courses in Marian’s elementary education program and will also be responsible for coordinating and supervising teacher candidates in their field placements. In addition to teaching, candidates are expected to engage in research and in service to the department, college, university, and profession. Teaching-focused candidates with experience or expertise in K-8 mathematical preparation are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant would serve in a dual-appointment role with the Fred S. Klipsch Educators College and the Department of Mathematical & Computational Sciences. The Fred S. Klipsch Educators College is recognized as an A+-rated elementary mathematics education program. The mission of the Educators college is to attract, prepare, develop, and support teachers and leaders who are guided by Franciscan values, informed by theory, and exemplary in practice. The Department of Mathematical & Computational Sciences is a collaborative academic community committed to fostering student engagement, problem solving, and communication. The department offers degrees in both Mathematics and Computer Science to develop transformative leaders for service to the world in a variety of areas of business, government and education.
