About The Position

The Assistant Professor of Management is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in management and related disciplines, maintaining an active scholarly research agenda consistent with AACSB accreditation standards, and contributing to service activities within the department, college, university, and profession. The position requires a commitment to student engagement, instructional excellence in both face-to-face and online environments, and collaboration with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Areas of teaching may include Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, International Management, Strategic Management, Leadership, Hospitality Management, and Tourism. Faculty are also expected to support curriculum development, participate in assessment and accreditation activities, advise students, and contribute to the continued growth and strategic initiatives of the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Effectiveness in university-level teaching
  • Documented record of scholarly research or clear potential for research productivity in management or related areas
  • Ability to teach in areas such as Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Strategy, Leadership, Hospitality Management, and Tourism
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Collegiality
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse students and colleagues
  • Males age 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate management courses
  • Developing and updating course materials
  • Advising and mentoring students
  • Assessing student learning outcomes
  • Conducting scholarly research in management and related fields
  • Publishing academic and professional work
  • Participating in departmental, college, and university service activities such as committees, curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation initiatives
  • Maintaining engagement with current management practices and emerging trends in areas such as leadership, organizational behavior, strategy, human resource management, hospitality management, and tourism
  • Collaborating with industry and community partners to support experiential learning, workforce development, and student career preparation
