About The Position

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Management/Leadership to begin in Fall 2027. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic teacher-scholar with a strong record of excellence in teaching and a passion for leadership-related courses. This role involves teaching at various levels and in multiple modalities, with a particular demand for fully online instruction. The position is advertised at the Assistant Professor rank, but applications from candidates with extensive experience may be considered for Associate Professor, with tenure upon hire being a possibility on a case-by-case basis.

Requirements

  • Possess a terminal degree (doctorate) in management/leadership or a closely-related discipline from a regionally accredited university.
  • Be eligible for the AACSB “scholarly academic” faculty classification.
  • Have a documented track record of successfully teaching leadership courses, including in fully online formats.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of full-time collegiate teaching experience.
  • Experience working with doctoral students.
  • Industry experience, including ongoing connections.
  • Proficiency in creating original, dynamic, and engaging online course instructional materials.
  • Great administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support successful instruction to a largely non-traditional, first-generation, and military-affiliated student body.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, engaging instruction for typically three courses per long term in a variety of course delivery formats (face-to-face, online, or hybrid), with fully online being the most in-demand option at present.
  • Engage in scholarly contributions, maintaining AACSB "scholarly academic" status and a pipeline of works in progress.
  • Engage in other forms of impact such as maintaining professional certifications, presenting at academic conferences, consulting, or completing relevant professional training and development.
  • Support the department, college, and university through committee work (exempt for first-year faculty).
  • Contribute to the profession and/or community through service activities, with an emphasis on impact and quality over quantity.
