About The Position

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at Texas A&M University-Central Texas is seeking a dynamic and collegial teacher-scholar for an Assistant Professor position in Management/Leadership, starting Fall 2027. This is a tenure-track faculty position with an emphasis on teaching leadership-related courses at various levels and modalities, including undergraduate and graduate courses. The university is a regional teaching institution with a growing emphasis on research, offering upper-level undergraduate and master's degrees. It actively partners with community colleges and Fort Hood, serving a diverse student demographic including first-generation, non-traditional, and military-affiliated students. The College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited, and the position offers opportunities to contribute to strategic initiatives, including a new DBA program.

Requirements

  • Possess a terminal degree (doctorate) in management / leadership or a closely-related discipline from a regionally accredited university.
  • Be eligible for the AACSB “scholarly academic” faculty classification.
  • Have a documented track record of successfully teaching leadership courses, including in fully online formats.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of full-time collegiate teaching experience.
  • Experience working with doctoral students.
  • Industry experience, including ongoing connections.
  • Proficiency in creating original, dynamic, and engaging online course instructional materials.
  • Great administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills to support successful instruction to a largely non-traditional, first-generation, and military-affiliated student body.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, engaging instruction for typically three courses per long term in a variety of course delivery formats (face-to-face, online, or hybrid), with fully online being the most in-demand option at present.
  • Summer teaching opportunities may also be available as dictated by student demand and department needs.
  • Make scholarly contributions, maintaining AACSB "scholarly academic" status and a pipeline of works in progress.
  • Engage in other impact-generating activities such as maintaining professional certifications, presenting at academic conferences, consulting, or completing professional training.
  • Support the department, college, and university through committee work (exempt for first-year faculty).
  • Engage in service to the profession and/or community, with an emphasis on impact and quality over quantity.
