About The Position

Shenandoah University’s AACSB-accredited School of Business seeks a dynamic educator-scholar for a full-time, benefited faculty appointment beginning August 2026. The position is based on the university’s main campus in Winchester, Virginia, and is eligible for a multi-year career contract after a successful probationary period. The successful candidate will contribute to the Management and Legal/Ethics core of the undergraduate and graduate programs, with a teaching load supporting the School’s compliance and human capital curriculum. Primary teaching areas include Legal Environment of Business, Human Resource Management, and Business Ethics. The candidate will also teach graduate-level MBA courses in areas such as Employment Law, Leadership, Human Resource Management, Business Ethics, and/or Organizational Behavior. Additional contributions include general business education, including Intro to Business, and student mentorship. The School values interdisciplinary collaboration that connects legal theory with organizational practice and is strengthening its focus on Ethical Leadership and Regulatory Compliance. Healthcare Law or Healthcare Management experience or interest is a significant plus; candidates able to address topics such as ESG, AI Ethics, or Sustainability are encouraged to apply. The School prepares students to lead and manage complex organizations in a dynamic global economy, emphasizing innovation, ethical leadership, experiential learning, and connections to industry and community partners. Requirements

Earned PhD or DBA in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or a related field. ABD candidates may be considered if they complete the degree before the start date.
Candidates with a Juris Doctor may be considered and are expected to have a record of scholarship appropriate for the faculty appointment.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Business Law and Human Resources.
Evidence of scholarly activity and/or professional engagement consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) status.
Commitment to excellence in teaching and high-impact student engagement.
Authorization to work in the United States; the university is not currently able to sponsor international visas.

Nice To Haves

Interest or expertise in Healthcare Law/Policy or Healthcare Systems.
Experience teaching at the graduate (MBA) level.
Professional certifications in HR, such as SHRM-CP/SCP, or related management fields.
Industry experience in corporate compliance, labor relations, or executive leadership.
Ability to address emerging topics such as ESG, AI Ethics, or Sustainability.
Experience or interest in Healthcare Law or Healthcare Management.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses, including Legal Environment of Business, Human Resource Management, and Business Ethics.

Support general business education, including Intro to Business.
Mentor students.
