About The Position
The History Department at Ave Maria University invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of History position to start in the 2027-2028 academic year. Ave Maria University is a private Catholic university offering over 30 majors, including master’s and doctoral degrees. A Newman Guide School faithful to the Catholic Church’s Magisterium, our university provides one of the strongest classical liberal arts curricula in the country, as well as exceptional opportunities for specialized study in the sciences and humanities. The campus is located in sunny Southwest Florida, in the vibrant and growing town of Ave Maria, Florida.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for full consideration.

- Teaching Philosophy as it Relates to the Apostolic Constitution Ex Corde Ecclesiae
- Research Statement: Research in progress and further interests
- Three Letters of Recommendation
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in a subfield of American history.
- Doctoral degree in History or a closely related field.
- Some teaching experience.
