About The Position

The School of Business at Quinnipiac University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance to join their Finance Department starting Fall 2027. The ideal candidate will have research and teaching interests at the intersection of Finance, Financial Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, FinTech, Healthcare Finance, Biotechnology, and data-driven decision making. Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration exist across the School of Business and the university. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, such as Investments, Portfolio Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions, Financial Analytics, FinTech, and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). The role involves contributing to the development of innovative programs in Financial Technology, Financial Analytics, and AI applications in finance, as well as university initiatives in Healthcare Finance. The successful candidate is expected to establish and sustain a high-impact research agenda, contributing to leading finance journals, with a particular focus on how emerging technologies are reshaping financial markets. The position is central to preparing graduates for a rapidly changing financial landscape and offers the chance to influence program innovation and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Finance, FinTech, Economics, or a closely related field from an accredited Business School or University. ABD candidates must have all degree requirements completed prior to the start date
  • Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, or closely related field from an accredited institution
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Ability to engage students in active and experiential learning
  • Scholarly activity sufficient to meet Quinnipiac University School of Business AACSB Scholarly Academic standards
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute positively to a collaborative academic environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using programming, statistical, or analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, machine learning frameworks, or related technologies
  • Prior teaching experience in Financial Analytics, FinTech, or AI-related finance courses.
  • Evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration involving technology and finance.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, both online and on ground
  • Maintain an active research agenda leading to publication in high-quality journals
  • Advise and mentor students
  • Actively participate in department, school, and university service
