About The Position

The Exercise and Health Science Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2027. The appointment is for the nine-month academic year. Applicants should have expertise in exercise physiology or biomechanics, and the successful candidate’s teaching will align with their area of expertise. Teaching will include Principles of Strength and Conditioning and may also include Exercise Physiology, Functional Human Anatomy, Biomechanics, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, Foundations of Exercise Program Design, and Introduction to Exercise and Health Science. It offers small classes, typically 20–30 students, and recently renovated teaching, laboratory, and student engagement spaces that support hands-on experiential learning. The successful candidate will join a collegial team of five full-time and three part-time faculty members. The institutions are Catholic liberal arts colleges in the Benedictine tradition, located in central Minnesota. They emphasize community, hospitality, stewardship, justice, inclusion, and respect for all persons. The colleges have approximately 2,900 students and support faculty-student relationships, research, experiential learning, study abroad, and faculty development. Applications are accepted online. Required application materials include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, teaching philosophy statement, evidence of teaching effectiveness, unofficial transcripts, and contact information for three professional references. Official transcripts will be required upon hire. Review begins October 19, 2026, and continues until the position is filled.
