The Department of Human Sciences in the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in the Health and Exercise Science program within Kinesiology. The successful candidate will bring recognized expertise in the social and behavioral aspects of physical activity and an ongoing research agenda aligned with major federal extramural funding opportunities, such as NIH, CDC, and HHS. Candidates should have a strong record of scholarship, teaching, and service appropriate to rank and a research-intensive university. Preference will be given to candidates who integrate basic and/or applied science into behavioral interventions that improve health and who demonstrate sustained impact. The program has access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and research collaborations with the Wexner Medical Center, the James Cancer Center, and units including Psychology, Nursing, Engineering, and Sports Medicine. A PhD in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Psychology, Public Health, or a closely related field is required, along with demonstrated research productivity, evidence of an independently funded research program, and teaching competency. Postdoctoral training is valued but not required. Experience using AI to advance research and teaching in Health and Exercise Science is desired. Experience with or willingness to pursue American College of Sports Medicine accreditation is preferred.
