About The Position

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering Technology. Cal Poly Pomona is a polytechnic university known for its learn-by-doing approach and Teacher Scholar Model. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Sc.D. in Electrical Engineering, or a closely aligned field, conferred by the start date of the position.
  • Commitment to the practical application of engineering principles as demonstrated in the teaching statement.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent teaching, and develop and support Electronic System Engineering Technology laboratories.
  • Commitment to inclusive excellence and student success.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic experience and strength in electronic system, electronic devices or signal processing.
  • Industrial experience in the electronics areas that will enhance teaching and scholarly activity and help in developing industry contacts.
  • Demonstrated ability for authoring peer-reviewed publications and scholarly activity involving students.
  • Expertise in desirable areas such as Communication Systems (Analog/RF/Microwave and Digital/Data Systems), Industrial Electronic Systems, Robotics and Motion Control Systems Design, and current AI knowledge as applied to Undergraduate Engineering Education.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a broad range of Electronic Systems Engineering Technology courses as well as relevant Electromechanical Systems Engineering Technology courses, including Electronic Devices, Digital Electronics, Electronic Networks, and Microcontrollers.
  • Update and develop new lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of teaching expertise.
  • Involve students in scholarly activities.
  • Demonstrate excellent teaching, scholarly activity, written and oral communication skills.
