About The Position

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for two tenure track faculty positions in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Additionally, it houses more than 40 student clubs that offer hands-on learning opportunities and have been recognized at several national competitions. Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering: The department offers B.S and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Engineering serving a diverse student body of approximately 1500 students. The graduate and undergraduate curricula include a large number of laboratories where students experience the practical application of concepts learned in the classroom. Additionally, a capstone project including both design and implementation is required of all undergraduates. The Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering B.S. degrees are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. The primary focus of the ECE degree programs is on students who plan to go to work as engineers right after graduation. Requirements

  • The applicant must have a Ph.D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university by the date of appointment. (Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.)
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly research in the applicant’s area of expertise, including publishing peer-reviewed articles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the IEEE code of ethics.

  • Ability to teach a broad range of courses in the area of Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Demonstrated potential for developing innovative lecture and laboratory curricula.
  • Teaching experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering at an accredited university or college program with demonstrated ability to provide hands-on education.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting the academic mission through university service work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to an active research agenda.
  • Relevant professional engineering work experience. This could include industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an applied research program, including experience with contracts and grants for applied research projects, preferably as a PI or co-PI.
  • Demonstrated potential to establish industrial collaborations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Applicants from all areas of electrical and computer engineering are invited to apply, with preference given to candidates specializing in Control Systems, Robotics, Analog and Digital Electronics, RF Electronics, Communications, Signal Processing, and Power Engineering.
