About The Position

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Electrical and Computer Engineering, starting Fall 2027. Applicants in all areas of ECE will be considered, with a particular interest in those who can teach and supervise projects in electronics and semiconductor design, communications and RF systems, power and energy systems, robotics and control systems, artificial intelligence-enabled systems, and emerging fields. Requirements

  • An earned Ph.D. with undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering or computer engineering.
  • ABDs are welcome to apply but must show evidence that the degree will be completed by the time of appointment.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including laboratory courses.
  • Ability and willingness to promote undergraduate and graduate student success through advising, co-curricular activities and other high impact practices.
  • Evidence of scholarly accomplishments and potential for continued research productivity.
  • A focused research agenda with potential for external funding.
  • Ability to balance excellent teaching, research, and service.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with colleagues and the community.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability and willingness to interact effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students and colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Development and teaching of introductory, core, and graduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as courses in their area(s) of specialization.
  • Leading an active research program commensurate with the requirements for tenure and promotion.
  • Contributing to and participating in the life and development of the department.
  • Contributing to the assessment of Electrical and Computer Engineering programs.
  • Advising students.
  • Serving on committees.
  • Participating in department, college, and university activities and governance.
