About The Position

The Department of Educational Leadership and School Counseling & Psychology is seeking a teacher-scholar committed to preparing reflective educational leaders who advance equity and inclusion in P–12 and higher education settings. The successful candidate will ideally possess leadership and scholarly experience in P–12 education and hold a Preliminary Administrative Services Credential (PASC) or equivalent administrative credential. Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership and, as appropriate, courses across School of Education programs; supervising administrator clinical experiences; advising and supervising master's theses, doctoral dissertations, and student research; maintaining an active scholarly agenda consistent with departmental retention, tenure, and promotion standards; mentoring and advising students; and contributing to departmental, school, university, and professional service activities. Faculty are also expected to engage with regional, state, and national educational leadership communities and organizations. The candidate must have the ability to teach in one or more of the following K-12 foundational areas: educational leadership; equity and cultural responsiveness; management of people, finance & resources; assessment & accountability leadership; applied research; program evaluation; school and community relations; change leadership/strategic planning; instructional leadership; curriculum, instruction, & assessment; social, political, and legal context of schooling; advanced school law and ethics. School of Education faculty regularly participate in evening and weekend activities, including orientations, retreats, community engagement events, and other program-related functions. Courses may be offered in face-to-face, synchronous online, asynchronous online, or hybrid formats.

Requirements

At least five years of experience in P-12 educational leadership
Administrative Services Credential (PASC or equivalent)
Evidence of experience in working with historically marginalized students
A record of scholarly accomplishments appropriate to the rank appointed
Experience with integration of technology in instructional programs
Evidence of research, teaching, or practice regarding educational leadership for equity and justice
Applicants should demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with a broad student population and provide mentorship that supports student academic success.

Evidence of potential for or successful teaching of graduate-level courses and supervising theses and/or dissertations
Peer-reviewed scholarship related to historically-marginalized and/or underrepresented populations; diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility; and/or educational leadership

Experience teaching asynchronous and/or synchronous online courses
Potential for or growing record of achieving external funding
Record of leadership roles on teams and in institutions

Willingness to step into program leadership roles in the department
Bilingual and/or multilingual proficiency

Responsibilities

Teaching, engaging in research, and providing service to the Department of Educational Leadership and School Counseling & Psychology, the SOE, university, and relevant community partners and organizations, as outlined in the department’s program personnel standards.
Supporting the Department Chair, as required, in continued development, implementation, and daily operations of the program curriculum.
Participating in relevant advisory and other departmental and SOE committees
Advising and mentoring graduate students.
Chairing and serving on dissertation committees.
Participating in student recruitment and admissions.
Building and maintaining relationships with faculty and staff across the School and the University, as appropriate.
Familiarity with the mission of CSUCI as an HSI.
Representing the Educational Leadership and School Counseling & Psychology Department within and outside the SOE, CSUCI, and the region, including in relevant professional organizations.
Collaboration with other departments and programs in SOE, CSUCI, and relevant CSU campuses across the state
Supporting continuous improvement, accreditation, and program review processes with relevant state, regional, and national agencies
