The Department of Economics at San José State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Economics to begin in August 2026. This position is particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching expertise in Macroeconomics, International Economics, Forecasting in Big Data and Machine Learning, and AI Dynamic Modeling. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, conducting research, engaging students in applied projects, supervising student research, and collaborating with colleagues. A demonstrated ability or strong potential to secure external research funding is highly desirable. The Department of Economics, part of the College of Social Sciences, serves a diverse student body and offers various economics programs, including STEM-designated BS and MA degrees. The department is equipped with an Experimental Economics Lab.
