About The Position

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor for the Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS) within the College of Business Administration. Requirements

  • Academic and/or industry experience in at least one area of Artificial Intelligence applications for business, such as Agentic AI, Large Language Models, Generative AI.
  • Ph.D. in Information Systems or closely related discipline from an accredited university, AACSB preferred.
  • A terminal degree must be earned by the start of the appointment.
  • Demonstrated evidence of or commitment to research resulting in peer-reviewed journal publications.
  • Candidates with doctorate conferred more than 5 years ago must have at least two peer reviewed journal articles within the past five years.
  • Candidates with experience in higher education must show evidence of teaching excellence.
  • A teaching philosophy statement.

  • Academic and/or industry experience in one or more of the following areas: Big Data Analytics, Data Mining, Client/Server Web Development.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Developing AI related course(s).
  • Conducting research leading to peer-reviewed publications.
  • Service contributions to the CIS Department, the College of Business Administration, and the university.
