About The Position

This is a .5 FTE (.5FTE/.5cFTE) Assistant Professor level position, involving clinical work in an outpatient setting which includes teaching responsibilities for clinical trainees. This position primarily works daytime hours, Monday - Friday. Provider must be willing to cover evening hours when needed. Patient documentation will be completed during administrative time. The Child Health clinic serves as a medical home for over 10,000 low-income children. The faculty member will serve as a primary care provider for a specified panel of patients. They will be responsible for managing their well visits, follow up visits, care coordination, chronic illness management, and treatment of minor and acute illness.

Requirements

Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics.
Experience teaching learners in a clinical environment.
At least one year of experience providing primary care in an outpatient setting.
Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check.
Applicants must have some experience with pediatric patients.
Capable of managing multiple patients at a time.
Strong communication skills.
Job requires flexibility in both duties and hours.
Strong collaborator and team player.

Responsibilities

Serve as a "Pod Attending" in the clinic to provide care for patients on their panel, same day sick visits for other providers, and manage walk-ins and overbook requests.
Serve as doctor of the day, available to answer questions from triage nurses, sign medication refills and field other patient requests.
Cover after hours call approximately 4 weeks per year from home.
Participate in the evening clinic rotation with other CHC faculty members.
Contribute to the education of trainees, including teaching and supervising patient care of students and fellows, leading didactic educational sessions, and providing feedback to trainees on their performance.
