About The Position

The Chemistry Department of Wellesley College invites applications for a tenure-track position in synthetic organic chemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the Fall of 2027. Candidates with a strong research background in chemical synthesis, catalysis, or the development of new synthetic methods are highly encouraged to apply. Applicants should be prepared to teach introductory chemistry, organic chemistry lectures and laboratories, and advanced seminar-style courses. The successful candidate will have a commitment to curricular/lab development and pedagogical effectiveness in undergraduate education. They will also have a well-developed plan to lead a sustainable, productive research program that actively involves undergraduates. The position offers a competitive start-up package, ongoing support for research, mentoring, and access to faculty housing. A Ph.D. or equivalent degree is required by the time of appointment; candidates who are ABD at the time of application are welcome to apply. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree by the time of appointment.

  • Well-developed plan to lead a sustainable, productive research program that actively involves undergraduates.

  • Materials should address how you will foster student success through your teaching and your research program.
  • Three letters of recommendation that collectively address promise for both successful teaching and research.
  • Disclosure of all uses of generative AI tools in the preparation of your application.
