About The Position

Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, is seeking applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology position for the 2027-2028 academic year but has a potential start date of Spring 2027, if desired. This is a tenure track position with a start date of August 15, 2027 (or Spring 2027). Responsibilities include teaching a variety of upper- and lower-level Biology courses, supervising faculty-student research, and working with other faculty to develop the Biology program to its full potential. Applicants must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching. A wide variety of specialties with be considered, but preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate the ability to teach Microbiology, Genetics, or Cellular and Molecular Biology.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline.
  • A strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate students and a passion for providing an exceptional classroom experience for students.

  • Evidence of successful collegiate teaching experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate the ability to teach Microbiology, Genetics, or Cellular and Molecular Biology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of courses to Biology and Pre-Nursing students including both upper- and lower-level Biology courses.
  • A willingness to teach and support introductory level courses for majors and non-majors.
  • Encourage and oversee relevant faculty-student research.
  • Advise students.
  • Contribute your professional expertise to the college and larger external community.
