About The Position

California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for the Accounting Department within the College of Business Administration. Cal Poly Pomona is a polytechnic university known for its learn-by-doing approach and integrative experiential learning. The university is situated on a 1,400-acre campus and serves nearly 30,000 students with over 1,400 faculty across various degree programs. The College of Business Administration is the largest college on campus with over 4,900 students and holds AACSB accreditation, as does the Accounting Department. Requirements

  • Ph.D./D.B.A. in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited school. For the taxation area, candidates with a combination of LL.M. (taxation) and J.D. degrees will be considered. ABDs will be considered if the degree is completed by August 1, 2027.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity and equity, evidenced in the Teaching Philosophy Statement.
  • Knowledge and application of current accounting theory and practices.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Publications and research background in accounting and related fields.
  • Professional experience in either public or private accounting.
  • Professional accounting certification and license (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, or CFE).
  • Effective teaching in a variety of undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching duties in all accounting-related areas.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service to the Department, College, University, and Community.
  • Conduct research, publication, and other professional development activities.
  • Involvement in campus-wide committees, department activities, and other administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to the academic community through research, teaching, and service.
