About The Position

The Economics, Accounting and Business Department at Converse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting and Finance at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Spring or Fall 2027. Teaching areas include financial accounting principles, upper level accounting including Intermediate I and II, Auditing, Taxation and Accounting Information Systems. The standard teaching load is 21 credit hours per year, usually a 3-4 split load between fall and spring semesters. Additional responsibilities include advising students, assessing student learning, curriculum development, and providing service to the department, university, and community. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting and provide evidence of excellence in teaching and continued professional development, as well as the ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse areas of study across a liberal arts campus. Converse University is a private, coed liberal arts university with an enrollment of ~1,967 traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and graduate students, located in Spartanburg, SC. The department supports undergraduate majors in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration (with concentrations in International Business, Marketing and Sports Management). Requirements

  • Master's degree in accounting (MAcc or MSA), or an MBA with an accounting or finance concentration.
  • Qualified to teach in the US.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse areas of study across a liberal arts campus.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting.
  • Provide evidence of excellence in teaching and continued professional development.

  • CPA licensure is preferred regardless of degree.
