About The Position

This position is for the undergraduate program with the College of Nursing in Peoria, IL. The Assistant Professor Non Doctoral provides classroom and clinical/laboratory instruction for College of Nursing students in the nursing major. This includes preparing content, assignments, and evaluating student clinical and academic progress. The role involves interacting with health team members in cooperating clinical agencies to facilitate student learning and promote quality nursing care for patients. Additionally, the position participates in the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the College of Nursing’s total educational programs, acting as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree with a major in nursing (MS or MSN)
• At least two years’ experience in clinical nursing as required by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations
• Licensure in Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

Nice To Haves

• Evidence of official enrollment in a doctoral program
• Previous teaching experience, preferably in a baccalaureate nursing program
• Communication and interpersonal skills for interacting effectively with students, peers, and cooperating clinical agencies to provide an environment conducive to student learning
