The Department of Medical Education and Scholarship at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine (SOM) is seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor to teach physiology and/or biochemistry content, facilitate in-person small groups of problem-based learning (PBL), and provide large group lectures. This position will cover faculty duties as assigned in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, Physician Assistant program, and the School of Translational Biomedical Engineering and Sciences as their expertise allows. The faculty member will be based at either the Stratford, NJ or Sewell, NJ campus, with some travel between campuses as needed. Faculty should be fully committed to learning how to facilitate problem-based learning, which includes participating in training for PBL and ongoing faculty development programs provided. You are not expected to be an expert in all content of the case. Ensure support for student learning through collaboration with the Center for Student Success (CSS) and/or Office of Faculty Development. Know curriculum policies and procedures related to pre-clerkship delivery. Participate in academic committees as assigned. Whenever possible, vacations should be scheduled during the students’ time off in the winter, spring, and summer. When you have conferences or vacation, prior notification will be required so that a substitute can be provided for your group. Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department of Medical Education and Scholarship.
