About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant - Assistant Professor to join their Chicago-based Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program. This role offers a unique opportunity to teach in various learning environments while contributing to the development of future healthcare leaders. The position involves implementing the College’s philosophy and curriculum through engaging classroom, online, and clinical teaching, collaborating on curriculum development, serving as a course coordinator, providing feedback and support to students, managing data on student performance, participating in program review and revision, serving as a professional role model, and engaging in scholarly activities to promote the PA profession.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree or higher.
  • Two years of full-time teaching experience or three years of clinical experience as a PA.
  • Experientially prepared to teach assigned courses.
  • NCCPA certified physician assistant (PA-C).
  • Maintain current regulatory and practice credentials, as appropriate, based on assignment.
  • Excellent communication skills, along with a high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
  • Must meet all compliance requirements as specified in the Faculty Handbook. For those working within the clinical setting, additional compliance requirements are outlined in the faculty compliance packet.

Responsibilities

  • Implement our College’s philosophy and curriculum through engaging classroom, online, and clinical teaching.
  • Collaborate on didactic and clinical curriculum planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Serve as a course coordinator or team instructor, managing both autonomous and shared teaching responsibilities.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to students, support their advising and counseling needs, and assist with remediation.
  • Help manage databases and evaluate data on student performance, faculty evaluations, national exam results, and more.
  • Participate in the review and revision of the program's mission and academic policies, and contribute to the admissions process.
  • Serve as a mentor for students and faculty, promoting professionalism and collaboration within the College and community.
  • Engage in professional organizations to promote the PA profession and contribute to the continuous improvement of our programs.
