About The Position

The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) is an innovative and digitally oriented institution preparing graduates for leadership in the digital world. The Master of Data Analytics (MDA) program aims to develop big data professionals for high-demand careers. Learning is guided by workplace problems, real-world case studies, internships, and a capstone project, building specialty knowledge and technical competencies. The program covers the Data Science Lifecycle, from problem framing and hypothesis formulation to data exploration, warehousing, analysis, and visualization. This position involves delivering graduate-level courses, mentoring students, and contributing to the program's growth.

Requirements

  • PhD in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics, statistical modeling, data visualization, machine learning, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with technologies such as Python, R, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and similar platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry experience in data analytics or data science is considered an asset.
  • Certified AI Educator (CAIE) credential from PAII is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate-level courses in data analytics and related disciplines.
  • Develop and update course materials to reflect current industry trends and best practices.
  • Support student learning through advising, mentoring, and assessment.
  • Participate in program development and academic quality assurance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry partners to enhance student outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain an active research agenda in data analytics and related disciplines.
  • Publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Pursue external research funding from government, industry, and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and interdisciplinary research teams.
  • Engage graduate students in applied research initiatives.
  • Build partnerships with industry, government, and community organizations.
  • Support program growth, curriculum enhancement, and accreditation activities.
  • Participate in departmental, faculty, and institutional committees.
  • Contribute to student recruitment, retention, and outreach initiatives.
  • Promote knowledge transfer and innovation through data analytics projects and collaborations.
