About The Position

The University of Wyoming seeks an Assistant Professor of Marketing who will contribute to research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will teach a range of undergraduate and graduate marketing courses based on departmental needs and demonstrate a commitment to innovative, experiential-oriented teaching. The standard teaching load for research-active faculty in the college is 2/2, and the department seeks to minimize course preparations for assistant professors and research-active faculty. Familiarity with contemporary marketing practices and the use of emerging technologies such as digital marketing tools, social media, and AI in teaching is valued, but no particular marketing specialization is required. The position requires high-quality peer-reviewed research, including publication in leading journals, and other scholarly work that contributes to the department’s research culture. The professor is expected to translate research into practical value for university stakeholders. Annual departmental research funding is available, and faculty may apply for college- or university-level summer funding and research grants. The successful candidate may also contribute to program innovation and institutional and professional service. Engagement with marketing PhD students, including attending paper talks and supporting faculty-student interaction in possible GA/TA roles, is desirable. The candidate should be capable of contributing to outreach and engagement connecting the university with businesses and communities in Wyoming and beyond; the department aims to limit assistant professors’ heavy service demands. The position is on campus at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, Wyoming. Candidates must be able to teach in traditional face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. By Fall 2027, candidates must hold a Ph.D. in marketing or a closely related discipline; ABD candidates must complete their dissertation by August 2027.
