About The Position

The School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Assistant Professor in Marketing. This role involves teaching graduate and undergraduate courses and conducting high-quality research for publication in top journals. The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Requirements

  • PhD degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Marketing, Management, or a related field
  • Experience teaching marketing classes to MBA/EMBA students
  • Experience conducting independent research and leading research projects in empirical quantitative marketing on topics related to competition policy, privacy, platforms, digitization, and retailing
  • Evidence of publication of at least two (2) peer-reviewed journal articles for top marketing and management journals
  • At least two (2) single authored academic papers and two (2) papers coauthored with other scholars
  • Presentations of scholarly work at major academic marketing and economics conferences
  • PhD level coursework in economic theory, econometrics, statistics, causal inference, and major areas of marketing research

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate business students
  • Conducting research on empirical quantitative marketing topics and leading research projects that result in publishing in top journals
  • Advising PhD students specializing in quantitative marketing
  • Participating in departmental and academic services, including faculty hiring, PhD admission, curriculum design, conference presentations, and peer review
