The Honors College and the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invite applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2027. This position will report to both academic units and include teaching responsibilities equal to both units. The person in this position will also contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and other forms of college and university service. A primary responsibility for this position is to teach HON 201 (Honors General Psychology) and 400-level honors seminars that are interdisciplinary but rooted in psychology and the candidate’s area of expertise. Another primary responsibility is the development and instruction of undergraduate courses in children’s mental health (a B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology has recently been developed and approved). This new program will offer courses that cover topics such as youth assessment, health promotion practices, addictions, targeted intervention practices, professional development and ethics, and inclusive practices.
