About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Department of Psychology invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2027. A primary responsibility for this position is the development and instruction of undergraduate courses in children’s mental health, supporting a newly developed B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology. This program will offer courses covering topics such as youth assessment, health promotion practices, addictions, targeted intervention practices, professional development and ethics, and inclusive practices. The role also includes teaching foundational and upper-division courses, including capstone courses. Career advancement is possible with demonstrated continued professional development and service contributions. The Department seeks individuals committed to fostering an inclusive environment for faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Dynamic and enthusiastic candidates with a Ph.D. in psychology or a related discipline, a strong commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and a willingness to collaborate with a program coordinator for assessment and quality control are desired.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Substantial teaching experience.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
  • ABD candidates will be considered.
