About The Position

The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track teaching faculty member (Assistant Professor in Residence) to begin Fall, 2027. The primary responsibilities for this position are the instruction of undergraduate courses for our neuroscience major (e.g., cellular and molecular/cognitive neuroscience) as well as foundational and upper-division psychology courses, including capstone. Career advancement is available with evidence of continued professional development and service contributions. The Department seeks individuals who are committed to fostering an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive. Further, the Department seeks dynamic and enthusiastic individuals with a Ph.D. in psychology or neuroscience or related discipline, a commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and a willingness to work with a program coordinator for purposes of assessment and quality control.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in psychology or neuroscience or related discipline from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • Substantial teaching experience (including online teaching)
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
