Requirements

  • Completed 3-year Master’s or a completed Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in School Psychology, or a doctorate degree in psychology, education, or a related field.
  • Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate degree may be considered; however, all requirements for conferral of the doctorate degree must be met no later than the start date of the position.
  • Current CA credentialing/licensing as a School Psychologist, Psychologist, or Licensed Educational Psychologist (for Master's or Ed.S. applicants).
  • Three years of professional work experience as a School Psychologist in preK-12 schools (for Master's or Ed.S. applicants).
  • Experience in delivering undergraduate/graduate instruction or professional development.
  • A record and/or plan for research and/or scholarly activities.
  • CA credentialing/licensing, or intention to obtain it, as a School Psychologist, Psychologist, or Licensed Educational Psychologist (for doctorate applicants). Candidate must have achieved credentialing/licensure by the end of the third year to continue employment.

Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise school psychology graduate students.
  • Develop a successful program of research or scholarly activity.
  • Seek external funding.
  • Support the administrative and advising needs of the School Psychology program.
  • Use effective, student-centered practices that support the learning and success of all students.
