The School of Human Sciences at Stephen F. Austin State University invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure track faculty position to teach classes in the Construction Management program starting Fall 2025. Rank will be determined based on the experience and credentials of the selected applicant. Established in 2019, the Construction Management program at Stephen F. Austin State University has experienced significant growth and is expected to continue to grow. The construction program has solid support from the university administration and from the industry with a robust advisory board to help develop the program. The selected applicant will have the opportunity to significantly impact and direct the development of the program. Practical application of theory is the bulwark of the program and is often cited as the reason for the program’s growth. Through strategic partnerships with local charitable organizations, faculty have the opportunity to guide students in their capstone experiences when students collaborate with clients to design, plan, organize, manage, construct, and manage the construction process of an actual construction project while making a positive difference in the community. The successful candidate will teach Construction Management courses, work with student organizations, develop curriculum and labs, foster industry contacts, recruit students, assess course results, and participate in other university service activities based on rank. Resume/Vita should support the candidate’s ability to teach in two or more of the following Construction Management courses. Mechanical and Electrical Systems, Construction/Engineering Surveying and Layout, Materials and Methods, Construction Estimating, Safety and Quality Control in Construction, Construction Contracts & Law, Statics and Mechanics of Materials, Project Management, and Technology Applications in Construction. Knowledge of theory and ability to perform field work are especially desired.
