About The Position

The department seeks to hire an Assistant Professor in Exercise & Sport Science. Requirements

• Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science or related field.
• Knowledge and expertise in exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, strength and conditioning, introduction to exercise and sport science, and exercise and sport science capstone.
• Ability to teach courses in the specified areas.
• Prior experience developing and teaching labs in exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, and strength and conditioning.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral or terminal professional degree in Exercise and Sport Science or related field.
• Experience advising undergraduate students and helping them plan and prepare for graduate programs in the health sciences.
• Prior training and mentorship in research and some scholarly expertise, allowing for the development of a successful line of scholarship.
• Experience using community-engaged learning practices in teaching.
• Expertise in women's health.
• Scholarship and teaching philosophy align with the university’s social justice, women-centered mission.

Responsibilities

• Advise undergraduate students on academic planning and preparation for graduate programs.
• Develop and maintain a line of scholarship.
• Engage in community-based learning practices in teaching.
• Contribute to the university's mission, particularly in areas of social justice and women-centered education.
