About The Position

Emory University School of Medicine and Department of Surgery, is seeking a full-time Gut Failure faculty member at the Assistant Professor level. This is an academic position requiring teaching and research responsibilities, in addition to clinical work.

Requirements

• Board Certified General Surgeon
• Successful completion of a 2 year general surgery fellowship in a nationally recognized program
• A valid, unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia
• A controlled Substance Registration Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate

Responsibilities

• General, Emergency, and Critical Care based at EHH, along with service to DOU and EHC entities.
• Teach and Leadership of Emory students and trainees (including PA and NP preceptorships.
• Develop clinic practice to provide sufficient coverage and care for DOU hospital entities.
• Participate fully in calls for DOU.
• Develop academic portfolio in alignment with SOM goals.
• Participation in hospital and health system quality initiatives and relevant committees.
