About The Position

The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking one assistant/associate professor for a 9-month tenure-track position. The position will begin in the fall 2026. Faculty at East Texas A&M University are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline, the university, and the community.

Requirements

Doctorate in educational leadership or educational administration from a regionally-accredited U.S. university
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
Strong written and oral communication skills
Commitment to high quality instruction
Dedication to high standards and student success
Record of or potential for scholarship
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
Ability to multitask and work collegially as part of a team
Principal certification
3 years of K-12 teaching experience
Experience teaching online in higher education
3 years of experience as a public school administrator

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching in a graduate program
Experience chairing dissertations to completion
Superintendent Certification and Experience
Record of publication

Responsibilities

Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in educational leadership
Design, conduct, and publish research to include publications in peer-reviewed journals
Advise students
Prepare syllabi
Update course materials
Develop curriculum
Deliver instruction both online and face-to-face at any of the university’s sites; instructional duties may include teaching during the day, the evening, or Saturday
Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs
Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and the community
Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning via research, best practices, and technological applications in the classroom that include online instruction
Chair dissertations to completion
