About The Position

The position is for an Assistant Professor in Education with a focus on Elementary Education, STEM Education, or Curriculum & Instruction. The role requires a candidate with a strong academic background, demonstrated teaching ability at the undergraduate level, and potential for scholarly research and publication. Experience in PK-12 settings is also valued.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Elementary Education, STEM Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a closely related field, conferred by the appointment start date.
  • Demonstrated expertise in STEM instruction, including mathematics and/or science education.
  • Evidence of, or strong potential for, high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level.
  • Evidence of, or strong potential for, scholarly research and publication.
  • Experience in PK–12 classroom teaching or equivalent clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching in a college or university educator preparation program.
  • Experience supervising teacher candidates in clinical or field placements.
  • Familiarity with state teacher certification requirements and accreditation processes (e.g., CAEP, GaPSC).
  • Experience developing partnerships with PK-5 schools or districts.
