About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Knoxville is seeking a non-tenure track Assistant Professor or above in the Division of Cardiology. This position directly contributes to patient care quality and physician training excellence. This is a part-time 70% position located in Knoxville, TN.

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited institution.
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology (ABIM).
• Active Tennessee Medical License.
• Documented teaching effectiveness and engagement in academic programs.
• Commitment to advancing clinical education, safety, and procedural excellence.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum five (5) years of Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology experience preferred.
• Experience with ACGME-accredited fellowship programs strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in the didactic and procedural education of Interventional Cardiology fellows.
• Involvement in fellow evaluations, case-based discussions, and simulation-based training.
• Ensure adherence to ACGME Core Competencies, including procedural proficiency, patient care, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
• Contribute to curriculum development aligned with ACGME program requirements.
• Direct instruction and procedural oversight.
• Support resident and fellow-led case reports and clinical research.
• Participation in QI/PI projects relevant to Interventional Cardiology.
• Participate in departmental faculty meetings, fellow review committees, and ACGME-mandated evaluations and reporting.
