The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track assistant professor position in Statistics and Data Science (SDS), beginning on August 1, 2027. Candidates with expertise in all areas of statistics and data science are encouraged to apply. All areas of statistical research will be considered. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research lies at the interface of statistics and artificial intelligence or machine learning, including mathematical and statistical foundations, inferential methods, and computational algorithms. Candidates should demonstrate a proven record of, or a strong interest in, developing interdisciplinary research collaborations and strengthening graduate and undergraduate education through teaching and research mentoring. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University boasts a dynamic faculty of over 50 members, specializing in a wide range of mathematical, statistical, and data science fields. This variety and the strengths of our faculty create a stimulating environment for both research and teaching.
