About The Position

Idaho State University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor to coordinate the School Counseling Program. This position involves teaching core CACREP courses in Master's and Ph.D. programs, advising students, supervising practicum and internship students, directing dissertations, and engaging in scholarly inquiry, grant writing, and university/professional service. The anticipated start date is August 2027. This position is not eligible for new visa sponsorship at this time, but candidates with valid U.S. work authorization may be considered. Requirements

  • Doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP accredited program earned no later than August 2027.
  • Teaching and supervision experience.
  • Evidence for scholarly productivity.
  • Eligible for the Licensed Professional Counselor credential in Idaho.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization.

  • Publication in the ACA family of journals relevant to school counseling.
  • Involvement in national counseling associations, and those directly applicable to school counseling.
  • Successful grant procurement.
  • Experience as a school counseling program coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the school counseling courses.
  • Teach the core CACREP core classes at masters and doctoral level.
  • Assist in coordinating school counseling practicum and internship sites.
  • Consult with local and regional school districts on pupil personnel issues.
  • Ensure program quality via accreditation and certification.
  • Engage in scholarly productivity.
  • Provide advisement at the masters and doctoral level.
  • Supervise practicum and internship students.
