About The Position

Texas A&M University-Victoria seeks one full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science with a start date of August 2027. The Department of Computer and Information Sciences at Texas A&M University-Victoria invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science. We are seeking a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related areas. Candidates with a confirmed Ph.D. completion date will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and will contribute to a vibrant department that supports the computer science major. Teaching responsibilities may include Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Telecommunications and Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and other upper-division and graduate courses related to their expertise. The area of research specialization is open. Evidence of an active research agenda and the ability to publish in the field of expertise is expected.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Cyber Security, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related areas.
• Confirmed Ph.D. completion date.
• Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.
• Evidence of an active research agenda.
• Ability to publish in the field of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Teach twelve credit hours per semester of computer science courses.
• Direct student learning opportunities that might include undergraduate and graduate research or other applied student experiences.
• Contribute to the distinctive general education curriculum and the broader academic life on campus.
• Conduct research and scholarly activity.
• Provide career advising.
• Foster connections with community organizations.
• Maintain a strong campus presence.
• Support student recruitment and retention efforts.
