About The Position
San Francisco State University, College of Ethnic Studies offers an exciting opportunity for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in one of the five departments including Africana Studies, American Indian Studies, Asian American Studies, Latina/o Studies and Race and Resistance Studies beginning August 2027. We seek a colleague whose teaching and research interests on the intersections of race, ethnicity and disability. We are especially interested in qualified candidates with a demonstrated commitment -- through their research, teaching, and service -- to the diversity and excellence of our academic departments in the College of Ethnic Studies.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.F.A, or equivalent terminal degree in relevant field.
- Terminal degree must be completed by the first day of employment.
- Record of working and communicating effectively with colleagues and students

Responsibilities
- Undergraduate teaching in the intersections of race, ethnicity and disability
- Mentoring and advising undergraduate students
- Developing an active ongoing scholarship program or program of creative work on the intersections of race, ethnicity and disability
