About The Position

This is a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position. The faculty member will be responsible for developing and delivering course content in business analytics, information systems, and information technology. The faculty member should have experience teaching first-generation and diverse students. Industry/professional experiences and certifications are desirable. The University is on a journey to become a Research 1 (R1) institution. The faculty member will be responsible for continuously publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals while developing and delivering high-quality course content in business analytics, information systems, and information technology at the undergraduate and MBA levels, both on campus and online. In addition to carrying out impactful teaching and research, faculty member is expected to actively engage in service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. Faculty member is expected to engage with external partners and support grant and external funding opportunities.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Business/Data Analytics, Decision Sciences, Information Systems, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution at the time of appointment.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the potential to establish a research record through publications in refereed journals, national and international conferences, book chapters, and other scholarly activities.

Nice To Haves

  • A strong foundation in applying Information Technology and Analytics to business situations/applications is preferred.
  • Candidates adept in the use of cloud-based tools to support instruction in a variety of areas, like programming, databases, etc., will be preferred.
  • Candidates with professional experience in the Information Technology and Information Systems area and experience in teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in IS/IT and Analytics are preferred.
  • Candidates should be academically qualified under SACS to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the Business Information Systems and Analytics department, primarily Information Technology, but also Information Systems and Analytics.
  • Industry and professional certifications in the area of Information Systems/Technology and Analytics are encouraged.
  • A research pipeline illustrating potential with existing publications in related journals and grant potential.
