This tenure-track assistant-rank hire is expected to contribute to the teaching, research, and service missions of UNE - CAS with a 20:60:20 workload defined for the first three years of appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity for excellence in teaching biochemistry and advanced courses suiting the candidate’s expertise and aligned with the needs of the school and college. The candidate will also engage in curriculum development and participate in academic advising, recruiting, course and program assessment, and service to the school, college, and university. The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative, sustainable research program involving undergraduate and graduate researchers, as appropriate. This candidate’s research program should complement and enhance the diverse biomedical research underway in the CCSR. The CCSR is funded by a phase 1 NIH Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) award, and provides research infrastructure, funding, and professional development mentoring for COBRE Research Project Leaders (RPLs) and the larger UNE research community. A goal for this position is to have the successful candidate develop the capacity to serve as one of the next generation of COBRE RPLs. The candidate will also have the opportunity to take advantage of several competitive internal funding programs supporting new project development.
