About The Position

The Department of Agricultural Education and Studies at Iowa State University seeks applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor, with a focus on agriculture teacher education. This role involves 60% teaching and advising (undergraduate, MS, and PhD students), 35% research, and 5% institutional and professional service. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in agriculture education (resident and online), coordinating and supervising field experiences, developing a research program of national scope addressing current issues in agriculture and life sciences education, securing external funding, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, presenting research at national conferences, and advising students. Service on departmental, college, and/or university committees, engagement with professional organizations, and potentially advising a student organization are also expected.

Requirements

  • Ph.D., awarded by the start date, in Agricultural Education or closely related field.
  • Three years of teaching experience in agriculture or closely related field at the school-based or college level.

  • Documented experience conducting and disseminating research/scholarship.

Responsibilities
