About The Position

The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for up to two full-time tenure stream appointments in the Accounting Area. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will be assigned a teaching and service load.

Requirements

  • Earned a PhD degree in Accounting or a cognate discipline with a focus on Accounting (e.g., economics) by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
  • Evidence of research excellence in accounting, demonstrated through the job-market paper and additional research papers or publications, a research statement, and strong endorsements from referees.
  • Published in, have papers forthcoming in, or have works in progress meeting the standards of The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting & Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, and journals of similar calibre and standing.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, including a strong demonstrated ability to integrate both theory and practice.
  • Evidence of effective communication and presentation skills.
  • A willingness to undertake graduate supervision.
  • A demonstrated mastery of their subject area.
  • Ability to teach accounting data analytics.
  • Teaching dossier including a teaching statement, sample course materials, teaching evaluations, or other evidence of superior performance in teaching-related activities.
