About The Position
The Assistant Production Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in the day to day production at the Truss Plant. Coaches, motivates and supports the production crew, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication with the staff. The APS will lead a production team on one shift at a Truss Plant.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience
- A minimum of 2+ years’ experience in operations management, and/or production management in the construction industry or construction related industry
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Lift at least 50 pounds
- Able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
Responsibilities
- Coach the production team to produce and prioritize jobs and, when necessary, reorganize to meet deadlines and updates
- Comply with all OSHA safety requirements
- Communicate effectively with the management staff and the production team, informing and updating them regularly to ensure that production objectives are met
- Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
- Organize workflow according to workload to ensure the completion of the production schedule
- Monitor quality and accuracy of all orders
- Ensure the completion of all duties with minimum waste and abuse of equipment
- Ensure employee safety training is conducted as required
- Provide a positive, motivating example for employees
- Conduct training or authorize training of production employees
- Take all necessary action to manage production cost and improve profit
- Inform Production Supervisor of equipment and production concerns
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow Wilson Lumber’s core values
- Perform the duties of the Production Supervisor in the Production Supervisor’s absence
